"Green" is not a color!
HGTV has gone totally green in their first ever "Green Home Giveaway." From the Yukon hybrid parked in front of the house to the throw pillows for decoration, HGTV has built their first totally eco-friendly home using sustainable materials and energy saving water and lighting systems. The show will air on March 23rd, 8 pm, PT. HGTV has always been at the forefront of the eco-movement, but this house is the "first of its kind … equipped with all the latest environmentally friendly additions," according to an article local NBC affiliate WSAV in Savannah, GA. HGTV let cameras inside the HGTV Green Home at Tradition Hilton Head off I-95 in Hardeeville, Savannah, GA in the beginning of March.
From the outside to the inside, this eco-friendly home is not only good for the environment with its high-end earth friendly features, but it is also good for the lucky homeowners who will get to live there. Health conscious homeowners will enjoy a healthy and green abode. Carter and other HGTV designers have inspired and influenced millions of viewers with their green lifestyle choice. Carter encourages homeowners to use soy-based materials because the product does not have toxic elements that can be inhaled. Soy-based paint is a better and healthier alternative to chemical-based paint products. Perhaps not too many people know about soy-based materials, but if Carter says it you can bet that "soy-based" will become the next eco-catch phrase.
