6 Things to Know About Carter Oosterhouse
Aside from his work as the face of Nautica Voyage, and his talent for combining eco-friendly solutions to home renovation projects, there's more to Carter Oosterhouse. In an article from Canadian Living Carter reveals six things that just might make him even more irresistibly intriguing to fans.
1. He comes from a family of carpenters. He started woodworking when he was about 13 or 14, and he used this skill to earn money while attending college.
2. He attended Central Michigan University on a rugby scholarship where he graduated with a B.A in nutrition and communication.
3. Carter was hired as a production assistant moving boxes for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Project Greenlight.
4. He’s not into men’s grooming products (except for the “crisp, clean Nautica Voyage scent”) and he gets feng shui haircuts, a technique pioneered by L.A. based hairstylist Billy Yamaguchi.
5. He keeps grounded from the pitfalls of fame because his biggest fear is becoming a "Hollywood jackass."
6. He's studied acting and wouldn’t say no to acting roles, but his greatest appreciation is the creative process involved in building and designing. You constantly have to change design elements to keep things fresh and to evolve and progress with what you produce,” he says.
According to Janine Falcon of CanadianLiving.com, Carter got at least one proposal during his visit in Toronto, which actually came from Janine herself. “Anywhere, anytime,” Carter replied.
